BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions x 180 Studios Residency

BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions. The critically-acclaimed genre-defying debut feature from artist and filmmaker, Kahlil Joseph (and also one of Afropean.com’s highlighted films from LFF 2025), will launch the new cinema space at 180 Studios in London, with a month-long theatrical and exhibition residency — from 27 February to 27 March 2026.

During this landmark hybrid experience — part screening, part installation — the residency invites audiences to engage with the film and art, creating space for reflection, conversation and collective viewing within a gallery-cinema environment.

BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions is a distinctive cinematic experience that unfolds as a layered examination of Black experiences. It blends archive, original footage and cultural reference points, across Black history, humour, media and memory. It also interweaves fictional and historical figures to explore past, present, and future, in an immersive narrative that spans nearly 250 years. The film currently enjoys a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Kahlil Joseph is an American filmmaker and video artist whose work stands out for its fusion of narrative cinema, music, and fine art. He creates visually stunning explorations of African-American culture, identity, and history. Joseph first garnered widespread attention for his music videos for artists like Kendrick Lamar, FKA twigs, and Beyoncé’s visual album, Lemonade.
