Sunday poem – What my love en/tails by Adebe DeRango Adem
What my love en/tails
I inhabit these rooms these
Watery walks with
Egyptian alabaster women
& genuine Angels,
calypso mermaids,
Very old seas that roar & sing
Songs of deep longing &
Unlonging. Certain days my body
Becomes the waves &
Grows to an ocean –
At least feels many depths at once
Always holding onto
The last spark of light
In the fast dark streets of this life
Love witch, sea witch,
These are shared waters & lands
& I am certain my body needs
A part of you like sand needs shore
